INFLORESCENCE Inflorescence a panicle (1), or composed of racemes (2).

Panicle contracted (1/1).

Racemes single (2/2); paucilateral (2/2); bearing few fertile spikelets (2/2); bearing 2–6 fertile spikelets on each (1/1). Rhachis angular (2/2). Spikelet packing adaxial (2/2); lax (2/2).

Spikelets solitary. Fertile spikelets pedicelled. Pedicels oblong (1/1).

FERTILE SPIKELETS Spikelets comprising 1 basal sterile florets; 1 fertile florets; without rhachilla extension. Spikelets elliptic; dorsally compressed; 3.5–4.466–5.6 mm long; falling entire. Spikelet callus glabrous; base truncate.

GLUMES Glumes one the lower absent or obscure (2), or two (1); shorter than spikelet (2), or reaching apex of florets (1); thinner than fertile lemma. Lower glume ovate (1/1); hyaline (1/1); without keels (1/1); 0 -veined (1/1). Lower glume lateral veins absent (1/1). Lower glume surface without pits (1/1). Lower glume apex truncate (1/1), or acute (1/1). Upper glume elliptic (2), or oblong (2); 0.8 length of adjacent fertile lemma; chartaceous (1), or scarious (2); without keels; 5 -veined. Upper glume surface glabrous (1), or villous (2). Upper glume apex truncate (1), or acute (2), or acuminate (1).

FLORETS Basal sterile florets barren; without significant palea. Lemma of lower sterile floret elliptic (2), or oblong (2); 1 length of fertile lemma; membranous; 5–6 -veined (2), or 7 -veined; without ribs (2), or ribbed (1); truncate (1), or acute (2). Fertile lemma lanceolate (1), or elliptic; dorsally compressed; coriaceous; without keel; wingless; 5–7 -veined (1/1). Lemma lateral veins obscure (2/2). Lemma surface granulose; unwrinkled; without grooves. Lemma margins eciliate, or ciliolate (1). Lemma apex acute. Palea not rolled (2), or involute (1); 1 length of lemma; coriaceous; 2 -veined (1/1); without keels.
