Ligule a fringe of hairs (9), or absent (3). Leaf-blades linear (4), or lanceolate (9), or oblong (1), or ovate (1); firm (10), or flaccid (1). Leaf-blade midrib indistinct (1/1).

INFLORESCENCE Inflorescence a panicle; terminal (10), or terminal and axillary (1).

Panicle open (9), or contracted (2).

Spikelets solitary. Fertile spikelets pedicelled. Pedicels filiform (1/6), or linear (1/6), or oblong (4/6).

FERTILE SPIKELETS Spikelets comprising 1 fertile florets (1), or 2 fertile florets; without rhachilla extension. Spikelets elliptic (3), or oblong (6), or ovate (4); laterally compressed; 1–1.969–3.6 mm long; breaking up at maturity; disarticulating below each fertile floret. Rhachilla internodes definite. Floret callus glabrous (1/2), or woolly (1/2).

GLUMES Glumes persistent; shorter than spikelet; thinner than fertile lemma (10), or similar to fertile lemma in texture (1); parallel to lemmas (9), or gaping (2). Lower glume elliptic (3), or ovate (7), or orbicular (3); 0.5–0.7782–1 length of upper glume; membranous; without keels; 0 -veined (1/8), or 1 -veined (5/8), or 2 -veined (4/8), or 3 -veined (6/8), or 4–5 -veined (1/8). Lower glume lateral veins absent (2), or distinct (9). Lower glume surface without pits; glabrous (10), or pubescent (1). Lower glume apex truncate (1/9), or obtuse (7/9), or acute (1/9). Upper glume elliptic (4), or ovate (5), or orbicular (3); 0.4–0.6–0.7 length of adjacent fertile lemma; membranous; with undifferentiated margins (9), or hyaline margins (2); without keels (10/10); 1–2 -veined (1/8), or 3 -veined (2/8), or 4 -veined (1/8), or 5 -veined (6/8), or 6–7 -veined (1/8). Upper glume surface glabrous (10), or pubescent (1). Upper glume apex obtuse (8/9), or acute (1/9).

FLORETS Fertile florets bisexual (5), or female (6). Fertile lemma lanceolate (1), or elliptic (7), or ovate (5); hyaline (2), or membranous (7), or chartaceous (2); without keel; wingless; 0 -veined (6/8), or 1–2 -veined (2/8), or 3 -veined (4/8), or 4–5 -veined (2/8). Lemma lateral veins obscure (2/2). Lemma surface unwrinkled; without grooves; glabrous (4), or pubescent (6), or pilose (1). Lemma margins eciliate (9), or ciliolate (1), or ciliate (1). Lemma apex obtuse (3/10), or acute (7/10). Palea 0.75–0.975–1 length of lemma; hyaline (1), or membranous (10); 2 -veined (6/6).
