Agrostis delislei
HABIT Perennial; caespitose. Culms erect; 20–30 cm long. Ligule an eciliate membrane; 2–4 mm long; obtuse. Leaf-blades 4–11 cm long; 1–2 mm wide.
INFLORESCENCE Inflorescence a panicle.
Panicle contracted; linear; 5–8 cm long.
Spikelets solitary. Fertile spikelets pedicelled.
FERTILE SPIKELETS Spikelets comprising 1 fertile florets; without rhachilla extension. Spikelets lanceolate; laterally compressed; 4–5 mm long; breaking up at maturity; disarticulating below each fertile floret. Floret callus pubescent.
GLUMES Glumes persistent; similar; exceeding apex of florets; firmer than fertile lemma; gaping. Lower glume lanceolate; 4–5 mm long; 1 length of upper glume; membranous; 1-keeled. Lower glume apex acuminate. Upper glume lanceolate; 4–5 mm long; membranous; 1-keeled. Upper glume apex acuminate.
FLORETS Fertile lemma lanceolate; 2.5 mm long; hyaline; without keel; 5 -veined. Lemma apex dentate; 2 -fid; awned; 1 -awned. Principal lemma awn dorsal; arising 0.66 way up back of lemma; curved; 2–3 mm long overall. Palea 0.66 length of lemma; hyaline.
FLOWER Lodicules 2; membranous. Anthers 3.
FRUIT Caryopsis with adherent pericarp.
DISTRIBUTION Antarctic: Subantarctic islands.
