Lower glume primary vein scabrous. Lower glume lateral veins absent. Lower glume apex acute. Upper glume lanceolate; 4 mm long; 0.8–0.9 length of adjacent fertile lemma; chartaceous; with membranous margins; 1-keeled; 1 -veined. Upper glume primary vein scabrous. Upper glume lateral veins absent. Upper glume apex acute.

FLORETS Fertile florets appressed to rhachilla. Fertile lemma lanceolate; 4.5 mm long; membranous; keeled; 3 -veined. Lemma apex obtuse, or acute; muticous, or mucronate. Apical sterile florets resembling fertile though underdeveloped.
