Drepanostachyum ampullare
HABIT Perennial; caespitose. Rhizomes short; pachymorph. Culms erect; 200–540 cm long; 7–15 mm diam.; woody; 26–34 -noded. Culm-internodes terete; with small lumen; 20–25 cm long; distally mealy. Lateral branches dendroid. Bud complement 12–20. Branch complement many; in an irregular line (2 rows); thinner than stem. Culm-sheaths tardily deciduous; 12–20 cm long; 3.5 times as long as wide; coriaceous; hispid; with dark brown hairs; without auricles; glabrous on shoulders. Culm-sheath ligule 1.5–4 mm high; dentate. Culm-sheath blade lanceolate; reflexed; 0.6–6 cm long; 1.5–2.5 mm wide; glabrous on surface. Leaves 3–5 per branch. Leaf-sheaths 2.7–5 cm long; glabrous on surface. Leaf-sheath oral hairs ciliate; dark. Leaf-sheath auricles falcate. Ligule an eciliate membrane; 1 mm long; brown; truncate. Leaf-blade base cuneate; with a brief petiole-like connection to sheath; petiole 0.1 cm long. Leaf-blades lanceolate; 5–11 cm long; 6–10 mm wide; chartaceous. Leaf-blade venation with 4–6 secondary veins; without cross veins. Leaf-blade surface glabrous. Leaf-blade margins scabrous. Leaf-blade apex acuminate.
