GLUMES Glumes reaching apex of florets; thinner than fertile lemma. Lower glume ovate; 0.6–0.66 length of spikelet; membranous; much thinner on margins; without keels; 3–5 -veined. Lower glume apex acute. Upper glume ovate; 1 length of spikelet; membranous; with hyaline margins; without keels; 7–9 -veined. Upper glume apex acute.

FLORETS Basal sterile florets barren; with palea. Lemma of lower sterile floret similar to upper glume; ovate; 1 length of spikelet; membranous; 7–9 -veined; acute. Palea of lower sterile floret 1 length of lemma. Fertile lemma oblong; dorsally compressed; 1.5–1.75 mm long; indurate; pallid; shiny; without keel. Lemma margins involute. Lemma apex acute.
