Pseudosasa owatarii
HABIT Perennial. Rhizomes elongated; leptomorph. Culms erect; 40–100 cm long; 2–5 mm diam.; woody. Culm-internodes terete; hollow; distally glabrous. Culm-nodes flush with internodes; glabrous. Lateral branches dendroid; arising from upper culm. Bud complement 1. Branch complement one; solitary; as thick as stem. Culm-sheaths glabrous. Leaves cauline; 3–4 per branch. Leaf-sheaths glabrous on surface. Leaf-sheath oral hairs lacking. Ligule an eciliate membrane. Leaf-blade base with a brief petiole-like connection to sheath. Leaf-blades linear, or lanceolate; 6–12 cm long; 8–12 mm wide; chartaceous. Leaf-blade surface glabrous. Leaf-blade apex acuminate.
INFLORESCENCE Flowering specimens unknown.
DISTRIBUTION Asia-temperate: eastern Asia.
