Lower glume lanceolate; 5.5–6.5 mm long; 0.9 length of upper glume; chartaceous; 1-keeled; 3 -veined. Lower glume primary vein scaberulous. Lower glume lateral veins ribbed. Lower glume surface asperulous. Lower glume apex acuminate. Upper glume lanceolate; 6–7 mm long; 1.7 length of adjacent fertile lemma; chartaceous; 1-keeled; 3 -veined. Upper glume primary vein scaberulous. Upper glume lateral veins ribbed. Upper glume surface asperulous. Upper glume apex acuminate.
