Yushania microphylla

HABIT Perennial; caespitose. Rhizomes short; pachymorph. Culms erect; 60–120 cm long; woody. Culm-internodes terete; hollow; 5–7.5 cm long; distally glabrous. Lateral branches suffrutescent. Branch complement many. Leaf-sheaths striately veined; pubescent. Leaf-sheath oral hairs setose. Ligule an eciliate membrane; truncate. Leaf-blade base cuneate; with a brief petiole-like connection to sheath. Leaf-blades lanceolate; 2–4 cm long; 3–7 mm wide; chartaceous. Leaf-blade venation with 4 secondary veins; with distinct cross veins. Leaf-blade surface glabrous. Leaf-blade margins scabrous. Leaf-blade apex acute.

INFLORESCENCE Flowering specimens unknown.

DISTRIBUTION Asia-tropical: India.
