Indocalamus jinpingensis

HABIT Perennial; caespitose. Rhizomes elongated; leptomorph. Culms erect; 150–200 cm long; 4–6(–8) mm diam.; woody. Culm-internodes terete; solid; (6–)13–16(–20) cm long. Culm-nodes glabrous. Lateral branches dendroid. Branch complement one. Culm-sheaths persistent; 0.66 length of internode; coriaceous; glabrous, or hispid; with tawny hairs; without auricles; glabrous on shoulders. Culm-sheath ligule 0.5 mm high. Culm-sheath blade linear, or triangular; narrower than sheath; deciduous; reflexed; 1 cm long; 1–2 mm wide. Leaves cauline; 4–5 per branch. Leaf-sheaths glabrous on surface; outer margin glabrous. Leaf-sheath oral hairs lacking. Ligule an eciliate membrane; 9.5 mm long; purple; truncate, or obtuse. Leaf-blade base cuneate; symmetrical, or asymmetrical; with a brief petiole-like connection to sheath; petiole 0.3–0.6 cm long. Leaf-blades lanceolate; 17–27 cm long; 35–55 mm wide. Leaf-blade venation with 18–24 secondary veins; with distinct cross veins. Leaf-blade surface glabrous. Leaf-blade margins scabrous. Leaf-blade apex attenuate.
