Pseudosasa amplexicaulis
HABIT Perennial. Culms 100–150 cm long; 6–10 mm diam.; woody. Culm-internodes terete; hollow; 15–25 cm long. Culm-nodes swollen. Lateral branches dendroid. Branch complement one. Culm-sheaths deciduous but leaving a persistent girdle; pubescent; without auricles; ciliate on shoulders. Culm-sheath ligule 1 mm high. Culm-sheath blade lanceolate; spreading. Leaves 3 per branch. Leaf-sheaths pubescent. Leaf-sheath oral hairs setose. Leaf-sheath auricles falcate. Ligule an eciliate membrane; 1 mm long. Leaf-blade base with a brief petiole-like connection to sheath. Leaf-blades lanceolate, or elliptic; 11–20 cm long; 20–30 mm wide. Leaf-blade venation with 12–18 secondary veins.
INFLORESCENCE Flowering specimens unknown.
DISTRIBUTION Asia-temperate: China.
